Bridging the Gap With Technology:
CEREC is the latest and greatest in technology that dentistry has seen since the drill! This technology bridges the gap between the clinical dentist and our laboratory. Teeth to be restored are imaged on a computer and designed by the dentist and the lab technician to create natural tooth restoration that often can not be detected by the naked eye.
CEREC is a highly specialized digital device that allows us to produce highly aesthetic and natural looking all-ceramic crowns among other types of tooth restorations.
Traditionally crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers are a two visit procedure. CEREC is computer aided design and computer aided milling which allows Dr. Sellinger to fabricate all of these restorations in one visit while you are in the chair.
Advantages of these restorations include:
- one appointment required instead of two
- strong and beautiful restorations that last far beyond a traditional restorations.
- no gooey impressions are necessary.
Old restorations are removed and replaced with beautiful restorations that are stronger and last longer than traditional fillings.
Single Appointment
Your time is important to us. CEREC allows us to treat you in one appointment what would have traditionally required multiple trips. This is just one more way we are striving to make your dental treatment more convenient and less time consuming so you can get back to the other important things in your life.
Conservative Dentistry
CEREC allows us as clinicians to preserve much more of your natural tooth structure compared to conventional procedures. This minimally invasive approach reduces tooth sensitivity and makes it much more likely that you will keep your natural teeth as you age.
Superior Materials
Not only are CEREC restorations metal free, these ceramics are the closest thing on the planet to your natural tooth enamel. This means that they will look completely natural and cause virtually no sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures compared to other materials.
Unprecedented Acuracy
CEREC restorations are fabricated using the newest “Computer-Aided-Design/Computer-Aided-Manufacturing”. Not only does this eliminate the uncomfortable goo we used to have to put in the mouth, digital impressions are accurate to within 50 microns: approximately the width of a human hair, making these restorations the most precise and longest lasting restorations in the world.
